Femme Fatale by Leesa Wallace6/12/2023 ![]() The society was patriarchal to such an extent that they considered women was inferior beings, whose only role was carry forward the man’s family legacy.Įven the books that were written had only male protagonists and women were mostly portrayed as belonging to the margins. ![]() Even when they started writing, women had to write under male pen names as no one was ready to publish or buy a book with a woman’s name on the cover. ![]() By doing so, she is denying a man’s posterity which leads to the ultimate destruction of the male.įor centuries, women were denied the right to read and write. This rejection is seen as one of the most threatening qualities of femme fatale. One of the most common qualities of the femme fatale includes promiscuity and the denunciation of motherhood. ![]() Prominent British author, cultural historian, and feminist-Annette Kuhn-mentioned in one of her works that “the femme fatale is primarily defined by her desirable, but dangerous, sexuality- which brings about the downfall of the male protagonist”. ![]()
